We are very intentionally not a BaaS

/* April 1, 2026. If you want auth, storage, functions, and platform kitchen-sink energy, there are good tools for that. CapyDB is not trying to be one of them. */

Different job, different tool

Supabase and Firebase exist for BaaS-style workflows. D1 and Neon exist for edge-shaped database stories. CapyDB is the answer to a simpler question: can I just have managed Postgres without adopting a whole platform?

That narrower scope is not a compromise. It is the point.

Why smaller is better

The less product theater between you and your database, the easier it is to onboard, debug, migrate, and keep your stack understandable.

CapyDB stays focused on hosted Postgres and the few operational workflows that actually help: previews, backups, restores, imports, and API keys.

What we ship instead

  • >>Direct and pooled Postgres connections
  • >>Disposable preview databases
  • >>Backups and restore flows
  • >>Imports from existing Postgres sources
  • >>Organization-scoped API keys
