Brand

Logos, colours, and the two or three rules that keep them recognizable. Take what you need.

02

Using it

  • -Editorial and press use needs no permission - write about us and use the mark to illustrate it
  • -Keep clear space around the mark equal to the height of its ear, and never place it on a busy photograph
  • -Do not recolour, outline, rotate, stretch, or add effects to the mark
  • -Do not lock the mark up with another logo, or use it as part of your own
  • -Do not use the mark or the name in a way that implies partnership, sponsorship, or endorsement we have not agreed to

03

Naming

  • -CapyDB - one word, capital C, capital DB. Not Capy DB, not CapyDb, not capydb in running prose
  • -A database on the platform is a cell; a machine is a node; the fleet is the grid
  • -The word cluster does not describe anything in this product - if you read it somewhere on our site, that is a bug

04

Colour

The palette is a warm void ground, a single ember accent spent sparingly, and hairline seams instead of borders. If you are matching it, the two values that matter are the ground and the accent.

  • oklch(0.145 0.007 75)

Ground - the dark surface everything sits on

  • oklch(0.705 0.19 41)

Accent - one per view, never decorative

  • oklch(0.934 0.016 90)

Text - opacity does the hierarchy, not extra colours

05

Typography

Display and headings are set in an extended grotesque with negative tracking and uppercase; body text in the same family at normal width; long-form and pull quotes in a serif italic; anything a machine produced - numbers, identifiers, status - in mono. That last rule is the one that does most of the work.

06

Press

For a boilerplate description, a screenshot at a specific size, or a quote from the people who run the platform, write to us. We answer press requests directly rather than routing them through an agency.
